Landgraf Motorsport working on Lucas Auer’s start following crash

In the first DTM qualifying session at the Sachsenring, title contender Lucas Auer was involved in a serious crash. The rear-right wheel hub on his Landgraf Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 broke, causing Auer to lose the right-rear wheel of the ‘world’s fastest shoebox’ and subsequently crash heavily into the barrier. Auer emerged from the crash uninjured.

The initial assessment from the Landgraf Motorsport mechanics is that there is a realistic chance the Austrian will be able to take part in the race. The mechanics are working hard to ensure the Mercedes-AMG GT3 is ready to line up on the grid.

Auer will have to start the race from the back of the grid. For the Tyrolean, who is currently fourth in the championship standings, this is a major setback in the title race.
