Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring: TV, schedule, weather – with a big surprise?

We’ve experienced just about everything at Formula 1 races in Styria: driving rain and damp temperatures, sweltering heat, and violent thunderstorms. And GP fans can expect some of the same this coming weekend.

Essentially, the same advice applies to Formula 1 fans at the Spielberg circuit over the coming days as it does to millions of people across Europe: protect yourself from the sun, drink plenty of fluids, and wait out the heat.

But the weather could still have a little surprise in store: as things stand today, Monday is set to bring some heavy thunderstorms, and meteorologists are not yet entirely sure how quickly these storms will build up. It wouldn’t be the first time that such a weather system has moved in a little earlier – and then, of all days, affected race day.
