Live ticker: Spielberg qualifying – Who will take pole position for the Heat Grand Prix?

Mercedes stars Kimi Antonelli and George Russell set the pace in the free practice sessions at Spielberg. The young World Championship leader from Italy was the fastest on both occasions during Friday’s practice sessions, whilst his experienced team-mate secured the fastest time in the final free practice session on Saturday morning – just ahead of the teenager from within their own ranks.

Barcelona GP winner Lewis Hamilton is not far behind either; the Ferrari superstar was just over a tenth of a second off the fastest time set by his former Mercedes team-mate. The two McLaren team-mates, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, as well as Red Bull Racing’s exceptional talent Max Verstappen, were also less than three tenths of a second off the pace.
