Italo Vision 2027: Aprilia confirms four-year contract for Pecco Bagnaia!

Two days after the announcement regarding Marc Marquez’s future with Ducati, and less than 24 hours after Pedro Acosta’s official move to Ducati Lenovo, the next ‘big deal’ has now been officially confirmed. Pecco Bagnaia is moving to Aprilia Racing to join the official MotoGP works team. The 2022 and 2023 World Champion will race in black alongside Marco Bezzecchi from 2027 onwards.

This was confirmed on Thursday morning by the MotoGP organisation led by Massimo Rivola. The big surprise: Bagnaia has signed a contract with the Noal-based factory team running up to and including 2030! No other rider in the premier class has been offered a comparable deal to date.

Massimo Rivola, CEO of Aprilia Racing, is thus fulfilling his long-held dream of an all-Italian MotoGP line-up: “Michele Colaninno and I share the same vision of supporting Italy, which is why we both thought of Marco and Pecco for the next chapter of Aprilia Racing. Bagnaia’s arrival is a testament to the value of Italian sport, which has distinguished itself on the world stage in recent months thanks to the successes of Kimi Antonelli in Formula 1, Jannik Sinner in tennis and Federica Brignone at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics. We are therefore proud to welcome Pecco, and this will give Italian sport a further boost on the international stage. We will give him and his family a warm welcome, but first we’ll try to beat him! Having a multiple world champion in our ranks is a responsibility we are only too happy to take on,” reads Rivola’s official statement.

This means that Marco Bezzecchi will lose one world champion – Jorge Martín – as a team-mate, only to gain a double champion. With 41 wins, 86 podium finishes and 35 pole positions, Turin-born Bagnaia is by far the most successful Ducati MotoGP rider. With his long-term commitment to Aprilia, Bagnaia now has the chance to become an icon for Italy’s second factory team.
