The final race weekend of the 2026 FIA WEC season is in full swing. This time, the action is taking place at the Monza circuit. And after Alpine topped the timesheets in the first free practice session, local heroes Ferrari proved unbeatable in the second session of the day. The 499P driven by Philip Hanson, Robert Kubica and Yifei Ye clocked a time of 1:38.143 minutes. In fact, it was the Pole Kubica who set the trio’s fastest lap. The car in question is the (yellow) 499P fielded privately by AF Corse.

During free practice, the track continued to dry out, meaning the fastest times were set towards the end of the session, when slicks were fitted to the cars. Trailing by 0.796 seconds, second place in the second free practice session at Monza went to the Aston Martin Valkyrie driven by Tom Gamble and Harry Tincknell.

Third place went to Kevin Magnussen, Raffaele Marciello and Dries Vanthoor. However, in their BMW M Hybrid V8, they were already 1.616 seconds off the pace. Directly behind them was the Alpine A424 driven by Jules Gounon and Victor Martins, 1.915 seconds behind. The top five was rounded off by the Genesis GMR-001 hypercar driven by Paul-Loup Chatin, Mathieu Jaminet and Daniel Juncadella. This meant that cars from five different manufacturers occupied the top five positions.

In the LMGT3 class, the Ford Mustang LMGT3 driven by Eric Powell, Sebastian Priaulx and Ben Tuck set the fastest time of 1:50.352 minutes. Tomorrow, Saturday (7 November 2026), the WEC continues at Monza. Here’s a guide on how to watch the action on screen.
