Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup in Aragon: The title race is heating up

The Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup is holding its penultimate event of the 2026 season this weekend at MotorLand Aragon. The battle for the championship is thus entering a decisive phase ahead of the title showdown at the Red Bull Ring in Austria in September.

Across the first four events of the new series, there have been five different winners in eight races, although no rider has yet managed to win both races on a single weekend. Spain’s Oscar Gutierrez tops the winners’ list with three victories, whilst Australia’s Archie McDonald has secured two wins. Eric Granado, along with former MotoGP riders Andrea Iannone and Bradley Smith – who competed at Silverstone on a wildcard – have each claimed one victory.

The top three are separated by just 19 points

The title race is very close. Ahead of the final four races, the Brazilian Granado leads the overall standings with a five-point lead over his Joe Rascal team-mate McDonald. Gutierrez lies in third place, 19 points behind the leader. Iannone, too, still has a chance of winning the title, trailing by 50 points. The Italian missed the season opener in Austin and only joined the series at Mugello, where he secured a victory in Race 2 in front of his home crowd.

Max Toth (Saddlemen Race Development) will once again be on the starting grid at Aragon. The young American had already stepped in at Silverstone for his compatriot Cory West, who had sustained injuries in a practice crash during the MotoAmerica ‘King of the Baggers’ series.

The Bagger qualifying session takes place on Saturday at 12.10 pm. The first race, over eight laps, gets underway at 4.10 pm. Race 2 takes place on Sunday at 8.55 am.
