Euro Moto Supersport: A close contest between Dirk Geiger and Daniel Blin

At the start of the season, it looked as though Ducati rider Daniel Blin was set for a dominant run. The Pole had racked up four consecutive wins, consistently relegating Dirk Geiger to second place. At Most, the tide turned. Blin had a heavy crash in practice and also struggled in the first race. Geiger, on the other hand, started from pole position to claim his first victory on the Yamaha R9 and took the overall lead from Blin, who had come away empty-handed. Race 2 at Most was not restarted following two crash-induced red flags, including a nasty highside by Switzerland’s Marcel Brenner, which resulted in several fractures. As a result, the standings remained unchanged, and the battle between Geiger and Blin will continue this weekend at Oschersleben.

Dirk Geiger: “The points tally is excellent”

“The points tally is excellent. The plan is to get the most out of it again at Oschersleben. As for Blin: good battles and having fun.”

Daniel Blin: “I want to enjoy the races”

“When I look at the standings, I don’t have any concrete plans yet – it’s still too early for that. My main plan for Oschersleben is to regain my confidence on the bike after Most. There’s no magic formula; I just want to enjoy the races and try to get as much out of them as possible.”

Lennox Lehmann: “I’ll definitely be riding”

“So far, everything’s fine and the recovery’s going pretty well. I’ll definitely be racing for now, and then I’ll see whether my finger’s still causing problems or not.”

Marvin Siebdrath: “I want to be on the podium”

“Looking at the standings, I’m heading into the second half of the season feeling positive and motivated. I want to keep moving closer to the top three right up to the end and consistently be in contention for a podium finish.”

Luca de Vleeschauwer: “I’m aiming for a place in the top three”

“Yes, we’re currently fifth in the championship, which isn’t quite what I’d hoped for. I really like the upcoming circuits. So I’m hoping to close the gap on the leading riders and aim for a place in the top three in the overall standings by the end of the season.”
