Marco Bezzecchi sends Aprilia team-mate Jorge Martin up to the alpine pastures

The MotoGP World Championship resumes on 11 September at Misano Adriatico on Italy’s Adriatic coast. The event at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli will be the home race for VR46 Academy protégé and Aprilia ace Marco Bezzecchi.

The Italian is currently appearing in another exciting role. The background: Aprilia’s long-standing sponsor Sterilgarda, an Italian dairy company, has released an amusing advert in which MotoGP stars Bezzecchi and Martin play leading roles. In the advert, Jorge Martin strolls across a tranquil alpine meadow in his racing gear and is directed by Bezzecchi over the phone to a mysterious motorbike rendezvous. However, once there, it’s not about bikes as expected, but about dexterity – the Spaniard must prove his milking skills.

On the alpine pasture, Martin is greeted by MotoGP icon and Aprilia ambassador Max Biaggi, wearing a white dairy coat. Biaggi tells the Spaniard what to do. “Your helmet won’t help you today,” Biaggi smiles at Martin. “I trust you,” Martin replies. With a broad grin, Martin then practises milking before enjoying fresh yoghurt and milk together with Biaggi.

The commercial’s tagline is: “Your energy for every milestone”. Max Biaggi has a long-standing association with the large dairy in the province of Mantua. He has been a brand ambassador for Sterilgarda for almost two decades, was already supported by Sterilgarda during the Superbike World Championship, and also brought the brand to the Aprilia factory. Sterilgarda was also on board for Biaggi’s Moto3 campaign, as well as in the Aprilia customer team in MotoGP.

Back to the current MotoGP scene: in the World Championship standings, Martin’s lead over Marc Marquez (Ducati) has melted away to 19 points at Aragon. Bezzecchi is just 24 points behind his team-mate in third place.
