MotoGP team Red Bull KTM Tech3 bid farewell to Enea Bastianini

On 24 August, Trackhouse Racing announced the signing of Enea Bastianini. He will be Raul Fernandez’s new team-mate in 2027. It had been known for weeks that the Italian would be moving to the US team next year; all that was missing was official confirmation – which came on Monday.

This also marks the end of Bastianini’s partnership with KTM Tech3 in a few months’ time. The team has already taken the opportunity to bid farewell to ‘La Bestia’.

Bastianini and Tech3: challenging times and successes

“After two seasons with the team, it is now time to say goodbye to Enea Bastianini at the end of the year,” said a statement from Tech3 Racing. “Thank you very much for everything you’ve given the team over the last two seasons – for your commitment, the racing, the funny moments and all the wonderful times we’ve shared. We still have one more season ahead of us, which we’ll finish together, but we’d like to wish you all the best already, Enea!”

Before Bastianini takes to the Aprilia RS-GP for the first time at the Valencia test in late November, he still has ten race weekends to complete on the KTM. The 2020 Moto2 World Champion made his MotoGP debut in 2021. After four years with Ducati – two of them in the factory team – he moved to KTM Tech3 in 2025. Bastianini struggled with the RC16 at first. He was particularly unable to demonstrate his pace in qualifying sessions. Nevertheless, he regularly secured top-10 finishes last year. In Barcelona, he made it onto a GP podium for the first time on the KTM. In 2026, the 28-year-old remains a regular in the top 10. Bastianini currently lies 12th in the World Championship standings with 76 points, making him the second-best KTM rider behind Pedro Acosta.
