Dunlop, Harrison, Hickman, McGuinness, Trummer – they’re all coming to the Classic TT

This year’s Classic TT will once again bring together many of the world’s best road racers on the Snaefell Mountain Course. The 36-time Tourist Trophy winner Michael Dunlop and the track record holder Peter Hickman are just as unlikely to miss the event as this year’s Senior TT winner Dean Harrison and TT legend John McGuinness. Austrian rider Julian Trummer will also be on the starting grid again this year.

There is great anticipation surrounding the comeback of Davey Todd, who sustained serious injuries in a crash during practice for the Daytona 200 in early March and was not granted permission to race in the North West 200 or the Tourist Trophy. Michael Rutter and Derek McGee will also be returning to the infamous circuit after a lengthy break. Among the entrants is 14-time Sidecar TT winner Ben Birchall, who will be tackling the 60.725-kilometre course on two wheels for the first time.

The two-week racing festival, featuring six classes on the programme – Formula One, Historic Senior, Historic Junior, Lightweight and, new for 2026, Ultra-Lightweight and Junior 600 – begins on Monday 17 August and Tuesday 18 August, with two warm-up laps on each day, before the first qualifying session takes place the following day. As always, the event will conclude with the main race, the Senior Classic TT.
