IRRC Final in Frohburg: Title Deciders and Prominent Guest Riders

It would take a miracle if, following this coming weekend’s International Road Racing Championship (IRRC) final at the Frohburger Dreieck, Marek Cerveny were not to be crowned overall winner of the Supersport class for the seventh time in 2015, 2016, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

The Triumph rider has secured maximum points five times this season, finishing second once and third twice on the podium. With eight of ten races completed, he has 177 points to his name – 17 more than his closest rival, Petr Najman.

The top positions appear to be a Czech affair, as Matej Vit, who lies in third place, also hails from the Czech Republic, just like Cerveny and Najman. Trailing by 53 points, his dreams of winning the title are already over. For him, the priority now is to defend third place.

Two-time British TT winner Gary Johnson, who races for the German team Schleizer Dreieck, is hoping for top results. In Horice, he had to sit out both races because the injuries he sustained in a crash at Chimay prevented him from competing.

The thrilling battle to see who will finish the championship as the top German rider is likely already decided. Rico Vetter (Vetter Racing Performance by SIEVI) heads into the final with a comfortable 17-point lead over Sebastian Frotscher (Team Schleizer Dreieck).

For this traditional event, now in its 63rd year, the organisers are pleased to announce Paul Jordam as a high-profile guest rider. The Briton thus follows in the footsteps of such prominent compatriots as Joey, Michael, William and Gary Dunlop, as well as Michael Rutter, Davey Tood and Peter Hickman.

In the Sportbike category, Jamie Williams heads into the final two races with a 30-point cushion over Dutchman Wally Jacobs. All eyes are likely to be on David Datzer in this class, which is being held for the first time. The 2024 German IRRC Superbike Champion will be competing as a guest rider.
