Wolfslake: Norick Blödorn crowned German champion ahead of schedule

At just 22 years of age, Norick Blödorn has already secured the German Speedway Championship for the third time. He finished the fourth final race of the German Championship undefeated and, in addition to the 15 race points, also bagged the bonus point for the day’s victory.

Right from the start, Norick Blödorn won all five of his heats in Wolfslake, consistently keeping his rivals at bay. In doing so, he delivered an outstanding performance at the Eichenring just outside Berlin.

However, the day’s victory was not decided until the 17th race of the day, when Blödorn came up against Kai Huckenbeck, who had also been unbeaten up to that point. Right from the start, the eventual winner was already in the lead and was able to fend off all of Huckenbeck’s attacks to secure the day’s victory.

Janek Konzack secured third place with his second race win of the day in the 19th race, having conceded points to Richard Geyer, Kai Huckenbeck and Norick Blödorn in the first three races. As the riders’ worst results will be discarded following the final championship race on 29 August in Stralsund, and only the best three results from all five championship races count, Blödorn is now certain to take the title.
