As in 2025, this year’s German Speedway Bundesliga was once again a contest between just three clubs, who competed against one another in a total of six races. Wittstock and Güstrow faced off in the first league race, whilst the clash between the two teams in Güstrow also marked the final race of the season. MC Nordstern Stralsund were already in the role of spectators, having completed their races and leading the standings with a total of five match points. An away win would have given the Wittstock Wolves the chance to win the title, as a victory in Güstrow would have earned them two further match points on top of the bonus point, allowing them to overtake Stralsund.
The race in Güstrow started evenly, and it was not until the fifth heat that the Wolves took the lead. The Güstrow team fought their way back before the final two heats and levelled the race. With a 4–2 victory by Kai Huckenbeck and Tyler Haupt over Marko Levishyn and Janek Konzack, the Güstrow team took the lead, with another 4–2 victory, Norick Blödorn and Mikkel Andersen secured the home win for Güstrow, thereby dashing Wittstock’s title hopes.
Despite the home win, MC Güstrow can only finish third in the final standings, with Stralsund joint top with Wittstock on equal points. The top two teams are separated by just four points in the race points difference, with Stralsund having a ten-point advantage.
