Boutsen VDS pays tribute to the late Marc van der Straten at Misano

Boutsen VDS will be paying tribute to Marc van der Straten this weekend at Misano during the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup.

The legendary boss of the Marc VDS Racing Team, who passed away just under two weeks ago, leaves a huge void in the world of GT racing and motorcycling. The Belgian beer billionaire was 78 years old and passed away at his home in Switzerland. Just one week before his death, van der Straten had visited the team at the 24 Hours of Spa to support the Porsche racing team.

To mark the occasion, the famous big cat will feature more prominently than ever on the Porsche 911 GT3 R bearing start number 2, which will be driven by Dorian Boccolacci and Morris Schuring. The livery pays homage to the legendary Ford GTs fielded by Marc VDS – whether the GT1 or GT3 versions – and specifically features the two iconic stripes that were particularly close to Marc van der Straten’s heart.
