Dylan Ferrandis (Ducati) is hanging up his helmet at the age of 32

French Ducati factory rider Dylan Ferrandis has officially announced that he will retire from professional racing after this coming weekend’s SMX Playoff. The 32-year-old won two Grands Prix and eight World Championship rounds in the MX2 World Championship between 2014 and 2016, before continuing his career in America, where he won four major championships: He claimed two Supercross titles in the 250cc class, one 250cc Nationals title and one 450cc Motocross championship.

Ferrandis announced his decision on social media. “This weekend’s race will be my last as a professional rider. After that, I’ll be retiring from the sport. I’ve been riding dirt bikes since I was three years old, and this life has been exactly what I wanted. It’s been a great year with the whole Ducati Racing team, and we’ll try to finish the season as well as possible and enjoy these final moments together,” he explained.

Dylan Ferrandis finished 11th in the second SMX Playoff in Los Angeles with a 3-9 result. In the standings, he sits in 7th place, 39 points behind the leader.
