Team manager Stefan Laux: “Lucy Michel needs to step out of her comfort zone”

In the seven rounds of the 2026 Supersport World Championship so far, Dominique Aegerter has scored 31 points – fewer than he managed in a single race weekend during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, when he won the world championship in outstanding fashion.
His Kawasaki team, Puccetti Racing, is doing everything it can to turn things around. Following a disappointing home race at Misano (two 13th-place finishes), a two-day test was held at the Cremona Circuit. In the height of summer, the focus was on preparations for Donington Park (10–12 July) and, of course, the second home race in Cremona (25–27 September).
“Those were literally hot test sessions,” groaned Aegerter. “The track temperature rose to as high as 63 °C, but thanks to the team’s excellent work, we were able to test several new components and work on all those areas of the bike that we simply don’t have time to evaluate or adjust during race weekends.”
Despite the intense heat, the 35-year-old completed many laps on the shortest track on the calendar, measuring 3,768 metres. The bulk of the work was done on Friday with over 80 laps, whilst on Saturday the Swiss rider completed 35 laps.
“We focused on the chassis and the electronics whilst also working on pure lap times,” explained Aegerter. “It was the best possible preparation for Donington in two weeks’ time, and I’d like to thank the whole team for working so hard under such challenging conditions.”
