ZX Moto: The first World Championship title is to be won by 2028 at the latest

ZX Moto is currently the world’s fastest-growing motorbike manufacturer, mainly thanks to its successes in the 2026 Supersport World Championship. The team isn’t giving itself much time to secure its first world title.

Following his departure from Kove Moto, Zhang Xue founded the company ZX Moto in 2024 – the abbreviation stands for the initials of his name. The Chinese entrepreneur had quickly made his mark in the production-based World Championship and in rallying with his first project, and it was to be expected that he would do the same with ZX Moto.

Xue joined forces with Evan Bros Racing, one of the most successful teams in the Supersport World Championship, and the 820RR proved to be a formidable machine. Valentin Debise spectacularly finished as runner-up in the world championship with six wins and nine podium finishes – these successes led to an incredible surge in demand that exceeded production capacity!

“We hadn’t anticipated such success at all,” said team manager Fabio Evangelista at the EICMA motorbike show. “A year ago, this was still a major challenge, and we are, of course, very happy and proud to have achieved this success. Next year we’ll have to work very hard; the only thing better than second place is first. It’s not easy to win the championship, but our goal with Zhang Xue is to win a championship by 2028. The key to our success so far can be summed up in two words: extreme patience. This mutual patience makes the relationship between both sides very strong.”

In the new season, a more race-oriented version of the three-cylinder motorbike, known as the 820RR-R, will be fielded; it has not yet been homologated for use in the middleweight class. No one doubts that the up-and-coming Chinese manufacturer will succeed in this endeavour.

“We had expected good results, but not that things would go this well. We’ve teamed up with a really good team, made up of brilliant people who work hard every day. Our greatest success this season was winning both races as early as Round 2,” said ZX Moto racing director Jesus Rincon. “For next year, we want to homologate the RR-R and take it further; this motorbike is a further development of the current 2026 version.”
