Dominik Olbert (razoon): concrete plans for the 2027 season

The Sterische team left Salzburg satisfied with fourth and second places for Leo Pichler and Colin Böninghausen, even though more was possible. They already have their sights set on next season.

“Yes, we could actually have won twice, but we’re still satisfied,” said team principal and owner Dominik Olbert of razoon – more than racing, summing up the two home weekends in the ADAC GT Masters. Leo Pichler and returnee Colin Böninghausen missed out on victory on Saturday by just under four seconds, and the podium by 1.9 seconds, because a brief rain shower set in immediately after the second pit stop and Pichler skidded into the gravel – those few seconds could not be made up.

On Sunday, the German-Austrian duo, who finished second, were 1.7 seconds off victory. “Second place twice in qualifying and in the lead for three-quarters of the first race, then that bit of bad luck with the brief shower on our outlap with cold tyres. The fact that we still managed fourth place there, and that we were able to secure second place today, is a real boost for the final,” explained Pichler, from Styria, after the second race.

In the second razoon Porsche, Mark Kastelic and Pavel Lefterov simply ran out of luck – a retirement, an eighth-place finish, “but they fought hard. I’m all the more pleased for Leo and Colin; they drove two really strong races. We didn’t stand a chance against Sunday’s winner anyway; he was simply too fast on the long straights here. Now we’re preparing for the GT World Challenge at Zandvoort,” commented team boss Olbert.

He outlined his plans for 2027 as follows: “We’ll continue in the ADAC GT Masters and the GT World Challenge Europe. The latter, however, perhaps with a Pro team in the Endurance Cup.”
