After a horrific crash: Maximilian Paul celebrates his DTM comeback at the Sachsenring

Maximilian Paul is set to return to the DTM at the Sachsenring. For Paul, this will mark his comeback following his serious accident at the Norisring, in which he fractured his lower leg and sustained spinal injuries. Maximilian Paul will, as usual, be driving the Grasser Racing Team’s Lamborghini Temerario GT3.

In preparation for his return, Maximilian Paul took part in the official DTM test at the Sachsenring on 23 August. He made his first race appearance since the horrific crash last week at the Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo Endurance in Imola, driving a Lamborghini Huracán GT3. Together with Enzo Geraci and Guido Luchetti, he finished the chaotic three-hour race in fourth place.

“I’m really looking forward to finally being able to race at the Sachsenring again. I made the most of the time following the crash with my physio, with whom I was actually staying for a while. This meant I was able to get back in the cockpit as early as the test three weeks ago, thanks also to the trust placed in me by Lamborghini and Gottfried Grasser,” says Lamborghini works driver Paul ahead of his DTM comeback.
