JMW Motorsport Ferrari with Tim Heinemann moves up to the top class

Tim Heinemann will make his debut in the top class of the premier international GT racing series at the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup round at the Nürburgring. The JMW Motorsport Ferrari 296 GT3 will compete in the Pro class during the race weekend in the Eifel. Regular driver Rolf Ineichen broke his wrist ahead of the race and will therefore be unable to take part.

Joining Tim Heinemann on the starting grid will be DTM driver Thierry Vermeulen – one of four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen’s closest friends – and the Finn Konsta Lappalainen. Both Vermeulen and the Finnish driver Lappalainen bring a wealth of experience in the Ferrari 296 GT3 from the DTM and the GT World Challenge Europe.

A total of 55 GT3 cars are entered for the three-hour Endurance Cup race at the Nürburgring. With the JMW Motorsport Ferrari, 18 cars will start in the Pro class. The Ferrari trio faces stiff competition at the race in the Eifel, but the drivers are determined to put in the best possible performance against this strong field and fight for the best possible result.

The three-hour race of the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup starts on Sunday at 3.00 pm, following qualifying on race day from 9.45 am. The SRO’s official livestream on YouTube will broadcast all sessions live from Saturday’s pre-qualifying onwards in several languages – including German and English.

“First of all, it’s obviously a shame that Rolf is unable to be here this weekend. However, with Thierry and Konsta, I can look forward to having two very strong team-mates. We’re certainly not in for an easy ride in the Pro Cup. As the season has been a bit of a slow start for us so far, we’re all the more motivated to secure a good result this weekend and reward the team for their hard work. I’m really looking forward to the weekend with Thierry and Konsta. The typical Eifel weather is sure to add to the excitement,” said Tim Heinemann.
