To mark Ducati’s 100th anniversary, adventure-seeking customers are also in for a treat. The Bologna-based manufacturer will be unveiling the new DesertX Rally at EICMA 2026 in Milan. For the 2027 model year, it will feature the new technical platform of the DesertX family, based on the 890 cmm V2 engine, the monocoque frame and the ‘Full-Floater’ rear suspension. The twin-cylinder engine continues to deliver 110 PS and produces a maximum torque of 92 Nm. It is characterised by a strong torque curve across the lower and mid-range revs.

The DesertX Rally is fitted with KYB suspension offering long travel. This includes a closed-cartridge fork derived from racing. The fork features high-quality surface treatments such as a Kashima coating and a DLC coating on the 48-mm stanchions. ““These ensure responsive handling, consistent damping characteristics and the ability to tackle even the most challenging obstacles,” promises Ducati. At the rear is a fully adjustable shock absorber. The suspension is complemented by an adjustable steering damper from Öhlins.

The new ‘Full-Floater’ rear suspension with progressive linkage is based on experience gained in racing and, according to Ducati, is designed to improve comfort, traction and the ability to absorb bumps. “As a result, the motorbike offers greater stability, precision and control even under the most extreme conditions,” says Ducati.

The off-road specification is rounded off by the new tubeless Takasago Excel spoked wheels, measuring 21 inches in diameter at the front and 18 inches at the rear. “The 36 spokes on the rear rim increase stability and reliability, whilst the narrower rim widths improve the Rally’s agility on difficult terrain. Compared to conventional designs, these rims are lighter and more resistant to impact,” explains Ducati.
