The FIM and Infront Moto Racing have announced two further details regarding the 2027 Motocross World Championship calendar. The Portuguese Grand Prix will once again be held on 22 and 23 May at the historic Águeda circuit. On 18 April, the World Championship will also visit Mérida, where the newly named ‘MXGP Extremadura’ will take place.

Águeda remains on the World Championship calendar

Águeda first hosted a Grand Prix in 1985. Back then, Dave Strijbos won the 125cc class race. In 2027, the 28th World Championship round will be held at the hard-pack track, located some 75 kilometres south of Porto.

Spain to host two Grand Prix events

The second Spanish World Championship round of the season will take place on 18 April in Mérida and will henceforth be known as ‘MXGPExtremadura’. Spain is thus represented twice on the calendar.

The 2027 season gets underway as early as 28 February with the MXGP of Andalusia in Almonte.
