Bezzecchi and Martin: MotoGP stars visit the legendary home of Moto Guzzi

A high-profile visit to the Moto Guzzi World Days 2026: Aprilia’s MotoGP works riders Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martín, along with test rider Lorenzo Savadori, took the opportunity to tour the new Moto Guzzi factory in Mandello del Lario.

The visit, which took place just a few days before the MotoGP race weekend at Misano, was particularly significant as Moto Guzzi is celebrating its 105th anniversary this year. The long-established Italian brand was founded in 1921 and, like Aprilia, is part of the Piaggio Group.

MotoGP stars at the Moto Guzzi Museum

Bezzecchi, Martin and Savadori were given a tour of the new production facility at the manufacturer’s historic headquarters. The three riders then visited the new Moto Guzzi Museum, where they were able to view up close numerous motorbikes that have shaped the brand’s history spanning more than a century.

Another highlight of the programme was the factory’s famous wind tunnel. The facility has been fully restored and refurbished and is one of the most significant historic sites in Mandello del Lario. Moto Guzzi commissioned the wind tunnel as early as the 1950s, making it one of the pioneers in the aerodynamic development of motorbikes.

A ride with Bezzecchi and Savadori

Bezzecchi and Savadori didn’t just limit their visit to looking around. The two Italians also took part in the grand Moto Guzzi parade from Lecco to Mandello del Lario. Bezzecchi rode a V7 Sport, whilst Savadori was on a Stelvio. Jorge Martin, on the other hand, chose not to take part in the group ride, but did join the meet-and-greet with the fans afterwards.

To round off the event, Bezzecchi, Martin and Savadori gathered in front of the famous red gate on Via Parodi. This historic entrance has marked the entrance to the Moto Guzzi factory since 1921 and is one of the brand’s landmarks.

There, the Aprilia trio met the numerous ‘Guzzisti’ who had travelled to the event. According to the manufacturer, the large number of young visitors was also striking. For Moto Guzzi, the appearance in front of the historic factory gate thus served as a link between the brand’s 105-year history and a new generation of motorcycling enthusiasts.
