MotoGP test in Brno: Pictures of Marc Marquez & Co on the 850cc prototypes

Immediately after the race weekend in Brno, an important MotoGP test was scheduled for Monday at the Czech circuit. It was a crucial trial run for the new rules, which come into force from 2027.

Only eleven riders took part in the test at the Automotodrom Brno – on 850cc bikes with restricted aerodynamics, no electronic aids and fitted with Pirelli tyres. Marc Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer were on the track for Ducati. Aprilia had Marco Bezzecchi and Raul Fernandez test the new bike from Noale. Joan Mir and Luca Marini took to the track for Honda. For Yamaha, Toprak Razgatlioglu and Augusto Fernandez clocked up important test kilometres. KTM was represented by Pedro Acosta, Dani Pedrosa and Pol Espargaro.

Pirelli’s private test took place behind closed doors. Nevertheless, SPEEDWEEK.com managed to get hold of a few pictures. The photos show the MotoGP riders on the new prototypes. The reduced aerodynamics are clearly visible from the outside. The Pirelli tyres are also clearly visible.

The MotoGP stars encountered good conditions in Brno on Monday and were able to complete many laps. According to eyewitness reports, there were also some crashes. In addition, the riders practised starts on the 850cc bikes without ride-height devices.

Spectators also timed the laps. Marc Marquez is said to have clocked a fast lap of around 1:54 mins. By way of comparison: Ai Ogura’s (Aprilia) pole time during the race weekend was 1:51.139 minutes. The fastest race lap was set by Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati) in 1:53.122 minutes.
