The future of the MotoGP World Championship: All eleven teams have now signed

Following months of negotiations over the new framework agreements, the MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group and the five manufacturers – Ducati, Aprilia, KTM, Honda and Yamaha – managed to reach an agreement covering the years 2027 to 2031 in the wake of the Hungarian Grand Prix. The official signing took place in Brno last weekend (as reported by SPEEDWEEK.com).

The agreements for the eleven MotoGP teams have now also been finalised – the organisational and commercial framework for the period 2027 to 2031 has been agreed. The eleven teams are: Aprilia Racing, BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP, Ducati Lenovo Team, Honda HRC Castrol, LCR Honda, Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP, Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, Red Bull KTM Tech3 and Superfile Trackhouse MotoGP Team.

“The agreements confirm the teams’ long-term participation in MotoGP and provide a solid foundation for the next chapter of the sport under the 2027 regulations,” said an official statement from MotoGP. “Together, MotoGP, the teams, the manufacturers and the FIM are committed to strengthening the championship, enhancing the fan experience and promoting its continued global development.”

The new framework would reinforce the teams’ role as key players in the future of MotoGP and create greater certainty and confidence to boost investment in the sport’s cornerstones – performance, fan engagement and commercial opportunities. The agreements would also provide for enhanced advertising and marketing commitments across the paddock, which would help raise the profile of the teams, the riders and the championship worldwide.

“The signing of this agreement with the teams is a pivotal moment for MotoGP and establishes the framework that will shape the championship until at least 2031,” emphasised Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of the MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group. “Together with the manufacturers, the FIM and stakeholders across the paddock, we have laid a strong foundation for the next era of this sport. This agreement offers the teams greater stability whilst reinforcing their central role within the championship. We are proud to have eleven teams, each with its own identity and making a unique contribution to MotoGP. Combined with enhanced marketing initiatives, this will bring fans closer to the action and boost the sport’s global appeal.
