Reorganisation in Porsche Motorsport: Porsche Sprint Challenge Germany to launch in 2027

The Porsche Sprint Challenge Germany has emerged from the merger of the former Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland and the Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux. The programme features both 30-minute sprint races and – optionally – a one-hour endurance race. A wide range of Porsche racing cars are eligible to take part: the Porsche 911 Cup (Type 992.2) and its predecessor models, Porsche GT4 models of all generations, and the new Porsche 911 Challenge.

The basic concept of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Germany is characterised by its compact format. In the run-up to the race weekends, the organiser Prospeed, in collaboration with Curbstone Events, plans test days and track days for road and racing cars. On Fridays, the programme features two 30-minute free practice sessions, followed by a qualifying session held in three 15-minute sessions. The third qualifying session is reserved exclusively for participants in the one-hour endurance race. On Saturday, there will be two 30-minute sprint races and an endurance race lasting over an hour. The endurance race includes a mandatory pit stop, during which a driver change is also permitted.

Five events are planned for the 2027 season at current or former Formula 1 circuits. The provisional calendar features the Nürburgring and the Hockenheimring in Germany, the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg (Austria), the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in the Belgian Ardennes, and the Circuit Zandvoort on the Dutch North Sea coast. Most events will take place as part of the established ADAC Racing Weekends. Further details and the final calendar are expected in the coming weeks. 

All events will be broadcast via live stream, allowing the action to be followed worldwide. For participants, team members, partners and guests, the series offers a dedicated hospitality area at every race weekend with first-class catering, serving as a central meeting point in the paddock.

Prospeed has been a household name in international motorsport for 20 years – not only through its participation in major endurance classics such as Spa and Le Mans, but also as the organiser of numerous series and events in which the Porsche brand always takes centre stage. This year, Prospeed is organising five racing series: the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux, the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe and the Porsche Rally Trophy Benelux.
