Chloe Jones had a strong rookie season in the 2025 Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship – WorldWCR for short. The Englishwoman needed the first two rounds at Assen and Cremona to settle into the paddock, but by the third race weekend Jones had already stormed onto the podium in third place for the first time – her home race at Donington Park really gave her wings. By the end of the season, she had secured five second-place finishes and third place in the championship.
However, Jones has surprisingly struggled to match her performance from the previous year in this year’s championship. Just in time for her return to Donington, though, the 22-year-old is back on form and recently secured her first podium finish of 2026 with a third-place finish at Misano.
“This season has been difficult so far, which is why I was so happy to be back on the podium – that’s where I belong,” said Jones confidently. “I’m enjoying riding much more again now, which is important – you’re faster when you’re having fun. We’ve definitely taken a step forward, both with the bike and for me personally. I’ve also felt much more comfortable on the bike, which is another positive aspect ahead of my home race.”
Jones was born in Northampton, just about 90 km from Donington Park. “Of course it’s my home race; I certainly know the circuit better and have done more laps than anyone else,” the Yamaha rider pointed out. “The support back home is really great. It’s always nice to race at home, but of course that also brings pressure. However, I’ve shown that I can handle it.”
