The 26th season of the International Bike Promotion Championship (IBPM) will draw to a close with the championship celebration on 21 November 2026 in Hoiersdorf, Lower Saxony. This year’s calendar featured several one-off events, including races in Schleiz, at the Nürburgring and in Hockenheim, where the series returned after a several-year hiatus. The calendar was rounded off with races in Brno, Most and Oschersleben. The 2026 champions are André Krüger in the Superbike Open class, Tim Holtz in the Supersport Open class, Alan Kreimes in the Supersport Next Generation class, Jennifer Lehmann in the overall standings and Sebastian Lorch in the Advanced class of the BMW RR Cup.

Once again, remarkable sporting achievements were honoured throughout the season’s races, as demonstrated by the results of the IBPM participants at the ADAC Wildcard Challenge in Hockenheim. Fair play amongst competitors and the legendary family-like atmosphere remained the hallmarks of the series in 2026.

After the IBPM party comes the look ahead

But from now on, our focus is firmly on the upcoming season. The most important news is that the Sportbike class for twin-cylinder engines up to 720 ccm is now finally being integrated into the IBPM class structure. Having emerged from the German Twin Trophy, this class is intended to provide young talent with a gentle introduction and to make motorsport affordable for all participants.

Supersport Open and Supersport Next Generation will be combined and will compete in a single race with separate class standings. Work is currently underway on the format for the BMW RR Cup; it may be run as a separate class within the Superbike series.

Calendar planning has been repeatedly hampered in recent weeks by postponements on the part of the race circuits. This led to the publication of a provisional calendar, which, however, became obsolete again after just a few days. A survey conducted amongst previous IBPM participants also had a major influence, yielding insights into the riders’ priorities that have now been taken into account. For example, the majority’s expressed wish for a calendar comprising six rounds and the selection of the Schleizer Dreieck as the most popular circuit have been taken into account.

The 2027 calendar

The plan includes events in Brno, Oschersleben, Most, Hockenheim and at the Schleizer Dreieck.

  • 23–25 April 2027 Autodrom Brno/CZ

  • 21–23 May 2027 (German TT) Schleizer Dreieck/D

  • 11–13 June 2027 Oschersleben/D

  • 30 July–1 August 2027 Schleizer Dreieck/D

  • 3–5 September 2027 Autodrom Most/CZ

  • 17–19 September 2027 Hockenheimring/D – tbc

From 30 July to 1 August 2027, the IBPM is scheduled to feature as part of the supporting programme for the Sidecar World Championship, which would see the series perform in front of thousands of spectators. An unrivalled experience for every racing driver As final confirmation from the FIM regarding the Sidecar World Championship round is still pending, and no cost estimates are available, etc., the date remains open; however, it can be replaced by Oschersleben on the same weekend if necessary. The Hockenheim date also still requires confirmation from the circuit and will therefore only be included in the calendar if this is granted.

IBPM regulations with minor adjustments

There will be a number of minor changes to the regulations, partly in response to suggestions from the field of riders, such as reducing the penalty for a false start from 20 to ten seconds. However, the competition regulations will continue to be largely based on those of the DMSB, in order, on the one hand, to ensure a smooth transition for drivers moving up to the IDM and, on the other hand, to recommend the IBPM as a training platform for drivers from the IDM. There will be opportunities for this, particularly at Brno, Oschersleben and Hockenheim.

Registration is now open and available at www.ibpm-racing. Details of the individual events and the season-long registration will follow shortly
