EICMA premiere for V4 superbike: V4SR-RR as a technological pioneer for CF Moto

It is undoubtedly one of the highlights of EICMA 2026: following studies and prototypes showcased at the last two editions of Milan’s leading trade fair, CF Moto is now unveiling the production version of its future flagship superbike. It is called the ‘V4SR-RR’ and represents the culmination so far of a two-year preparatory phase, during which the Chinese brand has been preparing the market and its customers for the expansion of its product portfolio into the high-end segment: ‘Master of Speed’ was the name of a design concept that CF Moto first unveiled at EICMA in 2024, alongside the unveiling of a V4 engine known as the ‘Core of Speed’. Just one year later, a prototype at an advanced stage of development was already on display at the show, followed by numerous progress updates, patent applications and a record-breaking run. The latter also forms the basis for one of the key figures CF Moto uses in its marketing: a pre-production motorbike reached over 315 km/h during test rides in China, thereby confirming the top speed the brand claims for its production superbike.

This performance is driven by ‘more than 210 PS’ from the 997 cubic centimetre V4 engine with a 90-degree cylinder bank angle – at 15,000 rpm, the rev limiter puts a stop to the acceleration. The engine acts as a load-bearing element within an aluminium frame, to which it is bolted via the cylinder heads. The frame itself is manufactured using a hollow-casting process, and varying frame thicknesses are designed to ensure the right amount of flex. The Chinese refer to this technology as ‘Aerocast’ in company parlance, and it is said to be fundamental to the dry weight of 180 kilograms. For CF Moto, this Superbike is therefore a trailblazer, as the chassis design principle is set to be used, according to reports from EICMA, in future CF Moto sports bikes with smaller engine capacities as well.

Even during the show, the manufacturer highlighted the effort that its KTM production partner had put into the aerodynamics (as reported by SPEEDWEEK.com). To achieve this, the brand enlisted the help of Pininfarina, in whose wind tunnel CF Moto fine-tuned the aerodynamics of its flagship model. The result is an active aerodynamic system featuring winglets that operate independently of one another and can adjust their angles in opposite directions depending on the riding situation.

The fact that the production version of the V4SR-RR now on display is by no means the end of the line for CF Moto is made clear by a derivative that the Chinese manufacturer also rolled into the spotlight in Milan: A version known as ‘Carbon Black’ appears to be intended purely for use on track days. According to the CF Moto press release, this extreme version is merely a ‘show bike’ that was put on the road for EICMA and is ‘intended to showcase customisation options’. However, behind closed doors at the stand in Milan, there is little doubt that the concept bike, clad in carbon fibre, is likely to evolve into a track-exclusive model for end customers. At the same time, CF Moto is constantly being linked with an entry into the Superbike World Championship. Behind the scenes, the Chinese brand is also already exploring ways to further develop the V4 engine.
