Christian Engelhart makes his DTM comeback, replacing Maximilian Paul

All 21 DTM cars will be on the starting grid again at the Nürburgring, after the second Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Temerario GT3 was not yet ready to race at Oschersleben. The Austrian team has since managed to acquire a new chassis and rebuild the car.

Christian Engelhart will be making his DTM comeback. The Lamborghini works driver will replace the injured Maximilian Paul in Gottfried Grasser’s team at the Nürburgring. Engelhart last raced in the DTM at Zandvoort in 2024, before withdrawing due to a long-standing knee injury.

Engelhart and Grasser have a long-standing partnership that began in 2016. He has contested numerous races for the team in the ADAC GT Masters, the GT World Challenge Europe and the DTM, as well as in endurance races. In 2017, he won the title with the Lamborghini team in what is now the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. In 2019, he won the 24 Hours of Daytona in the GTD class with the team.

So far this year, Engelhart has been competing for Konrad Motorsport on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in a Lamborghini Huracán GT3. The Lamborghini works driver also contested a race weekend in a Dinamic GT Porsche in the International GT Open. The event at the Nürburgring will be the 39-year-old German’s first race in the Lamborghini Temerario GT3.

Meanwhile, Maximilian Paul continues to work hard on his comeback following his serious accident at the Norisring. Paul hopes to be back on the starting grid for the season finale at Hockenheim.
