As is well known, the FIA WEC consists of two classes. Alongside the Hypercars, which compete amongst themselves for overall victory in the races, the LMGT3 cars also compete in the World Endurance Championship. The nine manufacturers – Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche – are each represented by two cars in the field. However, each car must also have at least one driver in its line-up who holds FIA Bronze status.

The two BMW M4 LMGT3 Evo cars are fielded by Team WRT and driven by Augusto Farfus, Sean Gelael and Darren Leung, as well as Daniel Harper, Anthony McIntosh and Parker Thompson. The car driven by Harper/McIntosh/Thompson has been competing throughout the season with various liveries designed to evoke historic BMW racing cars.

At the upcoming race weekend at Fuji in Japan (25 to 27 September 2026), the BMW will feature an orange base colour – broadly reminiscent of the Jägermeister design. This livery was particularly prominent on various BMW racing cars in motorsport during the 1970s. The BMW, which will compete in the 2026 FIA WEC with start number #69, currently lies seventh in the LMGT3 team standings. The highlight of the season so far was the class victory at the race in Imola.
