Lewis Hamilton/Ferrari ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix: “I need to do a better job”

Lewis Hamilton knows almost every inch of the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps: he has been racing his Formula 1 car through the Ardennes for almost twenty years and has won this historic Grand Prix five times.

Ahead of the 2026 race, the driver with 106 Grand Prix wins to his name says: “We’ve made great progress with the Ferrari, and that should be evident in Belgium too.”

“What also gives me confidence is that the simulation had specified a very particular basic set-up for Silverstone. However, I then decided, together with my race engineers, to take a different approach.”

“Charles started in England with the variant suggested by the sim, but then switched to my set-up. And that proved to be the right way to go.”

“It’s great to see that all my hard work is paying off. Now we need to keep our foot on the accelerator when it comes to improving the car. We know what to expect in terms of the track layout; it’s up to me to do a better job of getting the most out of the car in Belgium.”
