Live ticker: Zandvoort GP qualifying – Who can beat Mercedes?

The first part of the Zandvoort Sprint race weekend is now over, and so far everything has gone according to plan for George Russell. The Mercedes driver first secured pole position for the 24-lap race and then went on to win the Sprint as well. Behind him, Ferrari star Charles Leclerc and world champion Lando Norris in the McLaren crossed the line.

All three had already made a strong impression in the first and only free practice session; together with their respective team-mates, they occupied the top six positions on the timesheet. In the Sprint, local hero Max Verstappen also made it into the top six, as Lewis Hamilton in the second Ferrari was unable to get past him.

The big question is whether Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren will also shine in the GP qualifying session, and to what extent Verstappen can get the spectators cheering. You can follow the answer here in the live ticker.
