Red Bull Ring Classics 2026: Record attendance and F1 legends up close

At the Red Bull Ring Classics, the last weekend of August 2026 brought fantastic late-summer weather, making for a picture-perfect event. The fourth edition enjoyed a record number of visitors.

A total of 20,500 fans of historic motorsport enjoyed eight racing series, legendary dream cars from Hollywood, magnificent automobiles from all over the world, show runs, a vehicle exhibition and side events featuring the ‘Crazy Marshals’ and the ‘Red Bull Rotorwings’.

The fully restored AVIS Type 3 attracted a great deal of interest from spectators. Driver Robert Krickl stopped off at Spielberg as part of his tour and set off again on Sunday, heading for Monaco. The original version of this astonishing car, ‘made in Austria’, was due to compete in the 1926 Monte Carlo Rally and, exactly 100 years later, is getting a second chance to make that journey. 

Last but not least, the Legends Talks and autograph sessions featuring Dr Helmut Marko, former Formula 1 drivers Arturo Merzario, Karl Wendlinger and Christian Klien, and racing stars Mathias Lauda, Bernd Schneider and Dirk Adorf proved to be major crowd-pullers.
