Schumacher-inspired: Hamilton and Leclerc’s Ferrari kit at Monza

In 1996, Michael Schumacher began his adventure with Ferrari: in his first year in red, the German secured victories at the Spanish, Belgian and Italian Grands Prix.

Thirty years on from his triumph at Monza, Ferrari is paying tribute to the seven-time Formula 1 champion: the Italians are commemorating Michael Schumacher’s first season with the world’s most famous Scuderia with a special collection and a unique design. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc are set to take to the track at Monza in Schumacher-style livery, as initial images reveal.

The Englishman and the Monegasque are wearing an exclusive Puma collection that pays homage to Schumacher’s debut year in 1996. In addition, their race car will feature the livery of Schumacher’s 1996 Ferrari this coming weekend.

Together with its clothing partner Puma, Ferrari has unveiled the ‘Monza Limited Edition’. This special collection draws on numerous design elements from the mid-1990s. The collection includes a T-shirt, shirt, racing jacket and cap. The jacket is particularly striking, with its seams and construction directly inspired by Schumacher’s racing suit.
