Team USA for the Motocross of Nations: Cooper Webb, Levi Kitchen and Chance Hymas set to race in Ernée

Following Star Racing Yamaha’s withdrawal, it became clear that Haiden Deegan would not be available for the US team. The line-up now announced is therefore not the ideal line-up, but a compromise born of necessity.

MXoN Team USA

Honda HRC factory rider Chance Hymas will compete in the MXGP class at Ernée. In the US, he has so far been riding the 250cc class. The switch to the 450cc class and his MXoN debut make his selection a risk factor.

Levi Kitchen in the MX2 class

Pro Circuit Kawasaki factory rider Levi Kitchen is battling for the title in the 250cc Pro Motocross Championship this season and is a strong contender for the MX2 class. This will also be his first appearance for Team USA. “What an honour,” said Kitchen. “I can’t wait to compete for my country.”

Cooper Webb to compete in the Open class

Cooper Webb has failed to impress in the current Pro Motocross season. Ahead of the final round at Ironman, he sits in eighth place in the standings, 212 points adrift, and does not appear to be in top form at the moment. His great advantage is his experience: Ernée will already be Webb’s fourth appearance for Team USA. Whether his current form is enough to keep up with riders such as Jeffrey Herlings and Lucas Coenen remains to be seen, however.

I love the pressure and the atmosphere at this race. There’s nothing quite like it. For me, the Motocross of Nations is the best race in the world, and it’s an honour to represent my country.”
