Following Jeremy Seewer’s comeback: “The KTM is truly Ready To Race”

An overall 6th place, with 8th and 7th places at Foxhills, marked Jeremy Seewer’s best performance of the year on his return to KTM. Although he admitted to feeling a bit ‘rusty’ after the break from racing, the Swiss rider set a good pace right from the start: 9th in Saturday’s free practice, 15th in the qualifying race, and then 8th and 7th in Sunday’s races. That makes for an impressive tally of 27 points at the British Grand Prix. Seewer scored almost as many points in a single Grand Prix weekend as he did in the entire season before his move to KTM. With a total of 61 points, he sits 20th in the overall standings after 12 of 19 World Championship rounds.

Just two days of testing with KTM

“I’ve only tested the KTM for one or two days,” explained the Bülach-based rider after the race at Foxhills. “I think it was the right decision. I was able to prove that this weekend. My first test on the KTM was on sand and I was immediately impressed. Their slogan ‘Ready To Race’ really does ring true. With Japanese motorbikes, you have to tweak lots of things before you can go fast on them. Of course, the factory bikes are on a completely different level, but the KTM is ready to go with just a few tweaks. I realised straight away that this bike suits me. Van Venrooy created this position especially for me, as Rick Elzinga had already taken Mattia Guadagnini’s place. I saw the opportunity and seized it. I’m very grateful for that.”

Next stop: Loket

The action continues this coming weekend in Loket with Round 13 of the World Championship. This track should suit Jeremy Seewer particularly well. It was here that he won the 2022 MXGP of the Czech Republic with a 1-2 result.
