After a motocross injury: Ai Ogura makes his comeback at the Red Bull Ring

At the end of August, Ai Ogura suffered a fracture to his left thumb whilst training for motocross in his native Japan. The Trackhouse rider then travelled to Barcelona to undergo surgery. Due to the injury, he had to miss the Grand Prix races at Aragon and Misano.

On Tuesday evening, the Trackhouse team announced that Ogura would be travelling to Spielberg to make his comeback at the Austrian Grand Prix. “The SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team is delighted that Ai Ogura, following his operation ahead of the Aragon race weekend three weeks ago and intensive rehabilitation in Barcelona, will now travel to Austria to resume his fight for the championship,” read an official statement from Trackhouse on Tuesday evening. “Provided he passes the required medical examination on Thursday, he will be back on the RS-GP26 and ready to get back up to his usual speed after a month’s break.”
