For Fabio Di Giannantonio, one thing is certain: this is a lottery jackpot for KTM

The MotoGP World Championship is more evenly matched and of a higher standard than ever before: ahead of this coming weekend’s races in Aragon, the top five – Jorge Martin, Marco Bezzecchi, Ai Ogura (all Aprilia), Marc Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio (both Ducati) – are separated by just 41 points. It is now clear that this is not just a battle between the riders – who is fast where and how depends to a large extent on the bike they are riding.

For ‘Diggia’, the reasons for this are obvious: ‘We’ve seen that the Aprilias have amazing grip when the grip level isn’t so high. Aragon has the highest grip of any track on the calendar, so I think it’ll be easier for us here. At the same time, however, I believe we shouldn’t focus on what the data suggests, but rather on what we’ve been lacking in recent races. If we can improve in these areas, it will result in a much stronger combination of rider and bike. Now is the time in the championship to apply pressure and try things on the bike that we’ve held back on so far. To achieve something that will allow us to compete at the front and get closer to victories.”

The 27-year-old has earned a place in a factory team thanks to his performances this season and will race for Red Bull KTM alongside Alex Márquez in 2027 and 2028. The Tech3 satellite team has now also confirmed Luca Marini, who is joining from Honda; we are awaiting an announcement from Senna Agius.

“It’s great for MotoGP that he’ll remain on the starting grid,” says Di Giannantonio of Marini. “I’d hoped he’d stay. Because he’s partly responsible for the fact that I’m still in MotoGP. He helped me through difficult times; we’re friends. The fact that he’s signed with KTM will help the factory improve the bike. What’s more, he’s fast. And he’s very sensitive on the bike; his feedback is much more precise than mine. I’d say I give feedback as good as most of the other riders, but he’s better than me. That’s why I can learn a lot from him.”
