Kick-off in South America: 2027 MotoGP season-opening event in Rio de Janeiro

In 2025 and 2026, the MotoGP season-opening event took place in Asia on both occasions. Last year, the season kicked off in February in Bangkok (Thailand); this year, it took place in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). In 2027, the big fan party will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

This means that the third edition of the launch event will take place in South America next year. The party is set to take place on Botafogo Beach, offering a spectacular backdrop beneath Sugarloaf Mountain for the official presentation of the 2027 MotoGP season.

MotoGP returned to Brazil in 2026. The Grand Prix weekend in Goiânia attracted almost 150,000 spectators.
