Porsche legends Timo Bernhard and Jörg Bergmeister make their comeback

A high-profile addition to the KW 6h ADAC Ruhr Cup race in the Nürburgring Endurance Series. The two Porsche legends, Timo Bernhard and Jörg Bergmeister, will be driving the race in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

The car will be fielded by Team75 Bernhard, the racing team run by five-time Nürburgring 24-hour winner Bernhard, and will compete in the SP10 class for GT4 cars.

The car in question is a special model of Porsche’s GT4 racing car. It is the last Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport to be produced and has already been transferred to the Porsche Museum. The car will make its first and only racing appearance at the KW 6h ADAC Ruhr Cup race.

Last year, Timo Bernhard documented the Cayman’s entire journey – from the start of production right through to its rollout – in a filmed documentary. “Then we thought about what else we could do with the car – namely, enter it in a race,” the 45-year-old Bernhard told Motorsport magazine. “The Nordschleife was, of course, the favourite. That’s the Porsche spirit: ‘Let’s do it!’ And with Jörg and me as brand ambassadors, it was a perfect fit.”

“Competitive success isn’t the main focus,” Bernhard continued. “We want to complete the lap cleanly and have a great event. This is my first time driving a GT4 car on the Nordschleife. To be honest, it’s the smallest car I’ve ever driven there, but I’m certainly not underestimating it.”
