Alex Rins snubs Go Eleven: the dream of a second Ducati lives on

Go Eleven has built up a strong reputation in the World Superbike paddock over many years; as well as its professional approach, the riders consistently praise the family-like atmosphere within the team. In recent seasons, Go Eleven has achieved strong results with Lorenzo Baldassarri, Andrea Iannone and Philipp Öttl; it has not yet been decided who will be riding the V4R in 2027.

During the SBK weekend at Magny-Cours, team manager Denis Sacchetti named MotoGP rider Alex Rins as the leading candidate alongside his current rider Baldassarri, who is currently sixth in the World Championship. Sacchetti learnt from SPEEDWEEK.com that the Spaniard is no longer interested.

“I won’t be entering the Superbike World Championship next year,”Rins told a small group of journalists on Thursday in Misano, where the MotoGP will be taking place this coming weekend. “I have a very interesting project in mind. But I can’t say anything about it yet because it isn’t 100 per cent finalised.”

It was clear from the outset: if Rins were to compete in the World Superbike Championship, it would only be with a private Ducati team. And there, he – or his backers – would have had to provide a hefty financial contribution.

Rins’ decision has no bearing on Go Eleven’s plans to double its line-up for 2027 from one to two riders. That depends solely on whether snack manufacturer Pata extends its sponsorship. Remo Gobbi’s company sponsors several riders and teams in the SBK paddock; for a second V4R, Go Eleven needs an additional budget of around one million euros. The decision on how many riders the team will field on the grid next year will be made by the home race in Cremona on the last weekend in September.
