It’s finally official: the Go Eleven Ducati privateer team will field two Panigale V4Rs in 2027

It’s a dream come true for the Italian privateer Ducati team Go Eleven: after a long period of hard work, a deal has been finalised to field two riders in the 2027 World Superbike Championship.

Since 2019, Gianni Ramello’s Go-Eleven team has been competing in the World Superbike Championship on Ducatis and has since won several races, with Michael Ruben Rinaldi and Andrea Iannone. Lorenzo Baldassarri is further proof of just how well the team has developed: the 29-year-old finished a strong sixth in the World Championship, just 32 points behind fourth place – after a total of 36 races.

The team has been working towards expanding from one to two riders for years, but this requires an additional budget of around 750,000 euros. Normally it would be around one million, but for 2027 Ducati is only providing updates to the engine and swingarm, and Go Eleven is already well supplied with spare parts.

Pata opens up opportunities for Go Eleven

In mid-2024, snack manufacturer Pata came on board, initially as a personal sponsor of then-rider Andrea Iannone; the following year, the team also received direct support. Company boss Remo Gobbi is one of the most important sponsors in the SBK paddock; he has numerous riders and teams under contract. The Italian is set to significantly expand his involvement with Go Eleven for the coming season, which will allow the team to realise its long-cherished dream of fielding two Superbike riders.

In recent weeks, the issue of grid positions had proved to be the final hurdle. Promoter Liberty’s (formerly Dorna) budget is calculated for 22 Superbikes, which was also the number of riders in the 2026 season. It was only when it became clear that the German team MGM Ducati would be withdrawing due to a lack of funding that the way was cleared for Go Eleven. However, the enterprising team only received confirmation from Liberty once it was also clear that Marc VDS would continue to compete with one bike and not increase its entry to two. And that the new manufacturer, CF Moto from China, would not enter the World Championship until after the 2027 summer break at the earliest.

Private teams are reliant on freight cost subsidies

Liberty would accept more than 22 riders on the grid, but their teams would then receive no subsidies whatsoever for the expensive air freight. With two overseas races, costs per rider run into six figures. For a privateer team like Go Eleven, it is therefore essential to have permanent places. This has been the case since 21 October, as the team announced in a video.

It has been official since 13 Octoberthat Baldassari will continue in 2027. The second rider will not be announced until November, but there is no longer any doubt that it will be Supersport World Champion Albert Arenas.
