Schedule for the US Nationals at RedBud featuring Antonio Cairoli and Roan van de Moosdijk

The race at RedBud traditionally takes place over the American Independence Day weekend and also marks the highlight of the season. This year, the USA is celebrating its 250th anniversary, so this is sure to be a very special event. The weather forecast is good: with light cloud and a few gusts of wind, maximum daytime temperatures of 34 degrees are expected.

Antonio Cairoli and Roan van de Moosdijk will be competing

Motocross legend Antonio Cairoli will also be back on the starting grid at Red Bud. The nine-time MXGP World Champion plans to compete in a total of three rounds of the US Nationals on the Ducati Desmo450MX. Justin Barcia is also expected to return to competition following his injury lay-off, meaning the Troy Lee Ducati factory team will field three factory riders. “My goal is to finish in the top 10,” explained the Sicilian.

Dutch Kosak-KTM rider Roan van de Moosdijk has also made the journey from Europe to the US and is keen to prove himself to American fans at the legendary ‘La Roccos Leap’. Instead of his usual race number 39, he will be wearing number 939 in Michigan. Not to be forgotten is the Swiss Yamaha rider Valentin Guillod, who most recently finished in the top 10.

Jett Lawrence leads by a narrow margin

After 4 of 11 events, Jett Lawrence leads the standings by a narrow margin of 2 points ahead of his older brother Hunter.
