Beta RR Race 2027: Electronic riding aids for enduro racing

With its racing-oriented RR-Race range, Beta is building on the evolution of a tried-and-tested platform. The most significant technological innovation concerns the four-stroke models, which are now equipped with Launch Control and a quickshifter.

Launch Control is designed to electronically control torque delivery at the start in such a way as to maximise traction from the very first metre. This prevents the rear end from breaking away and uncontrolled wheelies. The quickshifter allows the rider to change up a gear at full throttle without using the clutch, enabling lightning-fast gear changes without any interruption in traction.

The controls for Launch Control, the Quickshifter, the two-stage traction control and the two engine maps are integrated centrally into the newly designed handlebar guard. Furthermore, all four-stroke models are fitted with an improved voltage regulator and a higher-capacity battery to ensure a more stable power supply. All four-stroke engines also feature a new timing chain tensioner that operates purely mechanically using spring force. This replaces the previous mechanical-hydraulic solution, which is designed to reduce friction and improve starting performance. Furthermore, the 430 and 480 cc four-stroke engines are fitted with new titanium intake valves featuring an optimised surface finish.

The 125 cc two-stroke engine features a new piston. In the 300 cc two-stroke, a new cylinder head and a re-tuned exhaust valve timing are designed to deliver more controllable power delivery in the low and mid-range. The large two-stroke engine (available in 250cc and 300cc versions) also features new crankshaft bearings with reduced internal friction.

On all RR Race models, the KYB suspension components have been retuned; there is a new headlight fairing with an LED headlamp, a new, larger speedometer and a reinforced chain guide. Standard equipment also includes a quick-release front wheel axle, Ergal footrests with steel pins, a ZF sprocket (aluminium core/steel rim) and numerous red and black anodised components. The 2027 model year Beta RR Race models will be available from September.
