There are still two races left in the 2026 FIA WEC season. But, naturally, all eyes are already on 2027. Peugeot will then be back in the Hypercar class with two cars. However, the French team will make some minor changes to their driver line-up compared to 2026. It has been clear since September that Robert Shwartzman will be part of the line-up. Alex Quinn has now also been signed as a regular driver for 2027.

Quinn has been a test and development driver for Peugeot since 2026. “Becoming an official driver for the Peugeot TotalEnergies team in the FIA World Endurance Championship is a dream come true for me,” says Quinn. “It’s been fantastic working with the team throughout the year, both at the factory and during the test programmes. The promotion to works driver is something I’m incredibly excited about and feel ready for, following my recent successes in other championships.”

Quinn began his career in karting and formula racing. He was named Rookie of the Year in both British F4 and Formula Renault. He then moved into sports car racing to compete in both the IMSA and the ELMS (European Le Mans Series). At the end of 2025, Quinn took part in the FIA WEC rookie test in Bahrain. That was where he got behind the wheel of the Peugeot 9X8 for the first time. In 2026, he also secured the LMP2 title in the American IMSA series. So now he’s heading onto the big stage.

“We are delighted to promote Alex from test and development driver to a regular driver in 2027,” said team principal Emmanuel Esnault. “Alex has demonstrated great skill behind the wheel during test drives with us and has once again achieved sporting success in LMP2 this season. This is already the second time that we at Peugeot have promoted a young talent from the LMP2 scene to a racing driver role in LMH.”
