Strong interest in the new F4 Germany

Only a few weeks have passed since the official launch of F4 Germany. The registration period is currently underway, and the promoter has already received more signed ‘application forms’ than had been forecast. Robin Selbach, managing director of the promoter Gedlich Racing: “Our internal planning was based on 20 cars for the inaugural season. We already have significantly more binding entries on our desks. We are delighted that we are clearly filling a significant gap and that so many drivers and teams want to take part.”

A good mix of top names, smaller teams, and newcomers and returnees

The fact that the launch of F4 Germany has made a serious impact on the scene is evident from the profile of those showing interest. Stefan Lehner, Head of Race Series at Gedlich Racing, explains: “We have received a number of entries from larger teams that are also familiar from F3 and F2. But there are smaller ones too. What’s more, it seems that some well-known teams, which haven’t been involved in formula racing before, are taking the launch of F4 Germany as an opportunity to reposition themselves. You’ll be surprised – names well-established in GT motorsport will now be competing in F4 Germany with F4 cars, and there’s even one familiar from the world of hypercars.”

Places will be allocated shortly

The key question, naturally, is who will ultimately be competing in F4 Germany and what the overall profile of the starting grid will look like as a result. Selbach explains: “After 25 September, the teams that will be taking part will have their entries confirmed. We expect to be able to provide definitive information on the grid by the end of September.”

Various criteria are taken into account when allocating places. In addition to the professionalism of the team and the drivers, the promoter also considers previous experience in the established Formula Winter Series as well as financial stability.
