Euro Moto News: Dates for Assen, Schleiz, Oschersleben and Schottenring

Special appearance by the Sidecar World Championship at the Schottenring Historic GP 2026

At the Schottenring Historic GP 2026, to be held on 15 and 16 August 2026 at the invitation of MSC Rund um Schotten e.V., top riders from the FIM Sidecar World Championship and the International Sidecar Trophy, as well as talented newcomers with their current sidecars, will once again be competing. Spectators can look forward to fascinating sidecar racing and impressive racing technology. Sidecars were a fixture for many years in the former IDM, now known as Euro Moto. The entry list for the Schottenring also features numerous IDM competitors. Denise Kartheininger is once again taking part. Her husband, Daniel Kartheininger, continued to compete in the IDM for many years after his Grand Prix career, most recently in the Superbike class.

Next big event in Schleiz

Following the successful German TT weekend at the end of July, things are set to get going again at the Schleizer Dreieck. “Make a note of the date,” advise the organisers. “This year, the International Supermoto Championship will bring the season to a close at the Schleizer Dreieck. Short, fast-paced races, half on tarmac and half on unpaved surfaces. By the way – the entire track is visible from almost every spot in the spectator area.” Date: 12–13 September 2026. Advance ticket sales have already begun.

It’s going to be a Bavarian affair in Oschersleben

Euro Moto 2026 celebrated its fourth championship round at the Motorsport Arena last weekend, so you can already make a note of the next date: the Biketoberfest. A season-ending bash at the Arena. Dates: 24 to 27 September 2026. “A tradition develops within a particular community over generations into a fixed, indispensable gathering where something is celebrated and honoured,” say the track operators enthusiastically. “There’s probably no event in the racing scene as well-known as our end-of-season event at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Taking its cue from the world’s most famous folk festival, our ‘BIKEtoberfest’ has, over the course of two decades, developed into the scene’s most important and largest end-of-season event. Every motor racing enthusiast should have been here at least once in their life! Four full days of practice, whilst the ProThunder, TT SuperclassiXs, Bridgestone 100 and Classic Endurance classes battle it out for the final points of the season. In the evenings, in a convivial atmosphere – traditional costume is welcome – we’ll chat away to our hearts’ content and celebrate and embrace motorcycling in all its diversity. So, dear racers, come and join us at the year’s final event, true to the motto ‘Oh Zünd is!’ and have a cracking time with us.”

Next Euro Moto date

Before heading to Assen for the next round of Euro Moto, it’s worth taking a closer look at the standings in the Superbike, Supersport and Sportbike classes following the races at Oschersleben. After all, the title deciders are drawing nearer. The event at the TT Circuit Assen takes place from 14 to 16 August 2026. Tickets are available in advance. A full weekend pass costs 55 euros. If you book individual days, Friday costs 5 euros, Saturday 30 euros and Sunday alone 40 euros. Children and young people up to and including the age of 14 get in for free.
