Maxime Renaux is out

In the end, the decision was easier for the French Federation than expected, as Yamaha factory rider Maxime Renaux announced that he would be out for the rest of the season due to injury. Another crash in Arnhem aggravated an injury he had sustained in Uddevalla (Sweden).

The Dutch have their first withdrawal to contend with

Team ‘Oranje’ was considered one of the strongest teams in the field. However, it was announced today that MXGP rider Kay de Wolf is out for the rest of the season due to a hand injury and will also be unable to take part in the MXoN. This means the French go into the race as the top favourites.

Ernée enjoys good luck

Ernée is a lucky venue for France anyway. In 2023, they were successful with Romain Febvre, Tom Vialle and Maxime Renaux, and they won in 2015 with Romain Febvre, Gautier Paulin and Marvin Musquin. Only in 2005 did Team USA win at Ernée, fielding Ricky Carmichael, Kevin Windham and Ivan Tedesco.
