Guillem Farres (Triumph) is MX2 World Champion and makes history

Guillem Farres made history in Darwin: the Spaniard secured the first-ever world championship title for himself and the long-established British brand Triumph. Triumph had already achieved a number of milestones: its first MX2 race win in 2025 by Camden Mc Lellan, its first MX2 GP victory in 2026, also by Mc Lellan, and now, in 2026, its first World Championship title courtesy of Guillem Farres.

A perfect result for Farres

The two factory riders delivered a perfect result in the first race at Darwin: South African Triumph factory rider Camden Mc Lellan won the first race with a start-to-finish victory ahead of Guillem Farres, whose second place was enough to secure the title early. Liam Everts (Husqvarna) closed in on the leaders once again towards the end, but finished the race in third place. Simon Längenfelder (KTM) did not start due to illness. Sacha Coenen secured third place in the World Championship standings with a fifth-place finish.
